BeatSeat
BeatSeat© began in 2011 when a solo guitarist needed a better way to add live percussion without canceling a show or compromising the performance. A traditional cajon was tried first, but it quickly revealed its limits for guitar players. Standard cajons sit underneath the performer, restrict foot movement, and do not give a guitarist easy access to playable surfaces while holding an instrument. That challenge led to the creation of a new kind of percussion seat designed specifically for solo musicians, singer-songwriters, acoustic performers, and guitarists who want rhythm, bass, and snare sounds without carrying a full drum kit.
BeatSeat© is a patented hand-built percussion instrument made in Connecticut, combining an ergonomic seat, kick drum response, snare percussion, four playable panels, and easy grab-and-go portability in one compact design. Often described as a “cajon on steroids,” BeatSeat© gives solo performers the ability to create a bigger, fuller live sound while seated and playing guitar. Built for acoustic shows, small stages, busking, live looping, studio work, and solo performance, BeatSeat© is more than a cajon alternative. It is a drum kit in a box, redefining what one musician can do on stage.
